Owner & Creative Director
My experience: I’ve always had a love for both fine art and architecture, but graphic design is the sweet spot where my creative skills found a home—I earned my BFA in Communication Arts & Design from Virginia Commonwealth University, and have been happily operating in the greyzone where art meets commerce ever since. While my in-depth brand experience includes industry segments like consumer goods, economic development, B2B, and nonprofits, restaurants and retail, my specialty is travel and tourism. Since 2004, I’ve worked with over 50 resorts and hotels, ranging from local favorites like The Cavalier Virginia Beach and Hilton Norfolk THE MAIN, to national gems like The Roosevelt Hotel in New York City, to international spots like Doonbeg Resort in Ireland. I’ve also had the pleasure of working with DMOs like Virginia Beach Convention & Visitors Bureau, the City of Fredericksburg, and National Baseball Hall of Fame, as well as more than a few wineries, golf courses, spas, conference centers, events, and festivals.
While I’ve worked as a Creative Director at traditional agencies for a number of years, my sixth sense told me to be more forward-thinking and utilize my experience in traditional design and media to launch full-thrust into the digital space. Second sight is another name for intuition—the very thing that led to Second Sight Creative being formed.
Specialities: Creative strategy, user experience (UX), advertising, branding and identity, conceptual development, digital marketing
How I work: Collaboration is the most important thing when it comes to creative work. Great results are always a team effort. While concepts regularly come to me when I have some quiet time to myself, when I’m riding my motorcycle, or when I’m supposed to be sleeping, ideas really start to take shape when I’m able to talk them out with the rest of the team, working through sketches on a whiteboard together and sharing our input and feedback. The best idea wins — always.
When I’m not working: I’m spending time with my wife and daughter (we love traveling and going to the beach every chance we get). You’ll also find me skateboarding, building and riding vintage Harley-Davidson motorcycles, getting back into painting and art, and home remodeling.
