Celebrated for its ocean-fresh seafood and locally inspired dishes, Catch 31 has been a beloved coastal dining destination in Virginia Beach for nearly two decades. Guests can enjoy drinks at the bar or by the firepits on the patio, all while taking in ocean views and live music. The restaurant offers an extensive menu, including one of the largest raw bars on the oceanfront, featuring Tuna Tartare, Whole Atlantic Lobster, and the famous Atlantic Tower. Located next to Neptune Park and overlooking the Atlantic Ocean, Catch 31 serves as a hotspot for live entertainment and the freshest local seafood. But not long ago, it was in need of a refresh. So our team was tasked with solving Catch 31’s dilemma: How do you reinvigorate a local favorite and get guests, staff, and locals excited again? Second Sight teamed up with Shamin Hotels to revitalize this iconic venue, positioning it in the center of the vibrant community.
Situation:
Second Sight Creative was engaged to launch a new brand campaign to breathe new life into Catch 31. Our journey began with an in-depth exploration of Catch 31’s rich history and its cherished place in the hearts of both locals and visitors. We discovered that Catch 31 is more than just a restaurant; it’s a vibrant gathering place where laughter echoes, friendships deepen, and unforgettable moments unfold. By capturing these elements on video, we aimed to highlight the essence of what makes Catch 31 special, ensuring that its story resonates with a wider audience and reinvigorates the brand with the energy and warmth it is known for.

Armed with our unique blend of heart, intuition, and thorough research, Second Sight Creative embarked on a mission to capture the essence of Catch 31 in a compelling new brand campaign. We set out to showcase the vibrant energy of the restaurant, emphasizing its commitment to locally sourced seafood, craft cocktails, and live entertainment. Every frame of our video content was crafted to convey the message: Catch 31 is Forever Fresh. Through this campaign, we aimed to highlight the restaurant’s dynamic atmosphere and dedication to quality. These days, Catch 31 continues to be a beloved destination for both locals and visitors.
Results:
What does a captivating visual narrative result in? In the case of Catch 31, Second Sight reengaged locals and ignited the spirit of the beloved Virginia Beach dining hotspot. Through strategic collaboration with Shamin Hotels, we successfully bridged tradition with modernity, ensuring that Catch 31 remains forever fresh in Virginia Beach’s culinary landscape.
Our efforts have led to remarkable improvements, with Instagram reels engagement up by 18.1% and an overall boost in Facebook metrics. The new template for the music lineup has elevated the feed, attracting more attention and engagement from the community. Our campaign’s success is evident in the numbers. Starting with 4,277 followers on Instagram, we saw an overall growth of 106 followers within 30 days. Our team also identified opportunities for further promotion through photos and videos of the full patio, bar, and late-night music events. On Facebook, we achieved a 225.8% increase in page visits and a 201.7% rise in page reach, resulting in 55.8K engagements. Overall, the campaign has revitalized Catch 31’s image and strengthened its connection with the community, solidifying its status as a premier local dining destination.
